I think we can all agree that 2020 was… strange. So much much happened and it definitely feels like more than one year has passed.

But, it’s over, we’re over it and it’s 2021! Here’s to hoping that this year will be less weird (even though it’s already gone a bit sideways).

I don’t believe in resolutions, haven’t for a long time. I prefer to set goals, if I have any at all. This year, I have one main goal and that is to eat more vegetables, because man, if 2020 led to anything.. it was a lot of frozen french fries. That’s something that very much needs to change.

Another thing that I would really like to change are these thyroid hormone levels. Man, if I could get my TSH down to around even a 2.5 this year, I would call that a serious win. That is less of a goal though and more of a hope, since there are a lot of factors at play. I can choose to eat more vegetables, I can’t choose for my thyroid to work.

And before anyone says anything, yes, I did make my appointment. I’ll be going to see my endocrinologist in a couple of weeks. I’ve got the day planned out, it’s a big day. I’m very curious as to what my doctor will say about my sad last round of labs (read all about that disappointment here, if you haven’t already). I wonder if she’ll suggest I try going gluten free again or another kind of diet, which I obviously have doubts about. I’m pretty sure that she is going to increase my dosage, hopefully my thryoid decides to cooperate with whatever changes I make.

So that’s pretty much where I am for this first week of January. Health is my overall goal this year, whether it be less ordering out or trying to get a handle on my antibody levels. If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that health, in all aspects, is very important.

Do you set resolutions? What are you hoping to accomplish in 2020?
